If you ask one of my friends or family members to describe me in a few words, ‘organised’ would probably be one of them, ahah. I love to stay organised. It makes my life easy and my mind happy. Here are 12 apps that I use regularly to keep my life organised.
1. Google Calendar
This is the number one app that keeps my whole life together. That might be a little exagerrated, haha, but for real, I’m constantly updating my calendar. I put everything in it from lectures to dinner reservations to holidays etc. If it’s not on my calendar, I’ll probably forget about it.
2. TickTick
This app mainly contains my to-do and to-buy lists. I’m constantly on this app because there’s always something I need to buy (e.g. groceries) or assignments I need to do. I love this app because 1) it’s free and 2) it’s simple and easy to use.
3. Apple Calendar
I use the Apple Calendar differently from Google Calendar. I use it for two main things: one, to keep track of my skincare routine (yes I can’t be bothered to remember when was the last time I exfoliated my face so I use this calendar to remind myself haha) and two, when it’s exam season, I put in the subjects/topics that I want to revise for each day.
4. GoodNotes
I love this app very much. I use it for a few different things: mainly to annotate lecture slides but I also have one notebook that is sort of my ‘digital journal’ that I write on regularly about my life and all that jazz. Another great thing about this app is I can import textbooks, and it’s just so much easier to have a digital copy of a textbook rather than the physical copy because I can easily search up specific terms as well as not having a pile of thick textbooks taking up space in my room and obviously, I don’t have to carry heavy textbooks around when I can just access it on any of my devices.
5. Dashlane
Dashlane is my password manager and also where I keep secure information such as payment info etc. It’s great because I don’t have to remember which password I use for different websites, and it autofills info on websites for me.
6. Mega
For Mega, I store all my personal documents such as copies of my IDs, educational certificates and other important documents. I love that I can sync all my files in multiple devices and so I can access them anywhere (laptop, phone, web browser etc.).
7. OneDrive
For OneDrive, I use it to store my lecture slides and anything university-related.
8. Google Sheets
Currently, I only use Google Sheets for one reason: to keep track of my workouts. Unlike my boyfriend, I’m unable to remember the number of reps and sets I do for each exercise so I have a file that documents all of that for me.
9. Notion
Notion is pretty much my ‘bible’ for being in clinical placement at medical school right now. I have a list of medical conditions that the school wants us to learn for each block (and more), and I collate information about each condition from various resources onto this app. These include Zero to Finals, PassMedicine, Quesmed and lectures.
10. Day One
When I don’t feel like physically writing down my thoughts and feelings on my digital journal on GoodNotes with the Apple pencil, I use Day One to type instead. Or when I need to write something down quickly, I prefer Day One as I type faster than I can write. What I also love about this app is I can connect my Instagram account to the app and thus, I have a ‘back up’ of my IG posts. Lastly, I track my menstrual cycle with this app as well.
11. Happy Scale
Very simply, I use this app to track my weight. That is all :) Currently, I’m just maintaining my weight (not cutting or bulking).
12. Evernote
To be honest, I don’t use Evernote that often because the info I store on this app are things that I don’t need on a regular basis (e.g. ID numbers).
Do you use any of these apps? What other apps do you use for organisation? :)
With love,
Nana
