Welcome to my blog series, Recently, where I share things that’s been happening in my life lately.
Entering my peaceful era
Following on from my previous blog post about my mind being quiet most of the time, I think I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m in my peaceful era. No drama, less stress, less anxiety, more slow living, more peace and quiet. I think it helps that I’m in a relatively chill rotation as a resident doctor. I’m currently working in A&E as a foundation year 1 (FY1) doctor. As FY1s in this rotation, we don’t have to work weekends or “on-calls”, unlike other rotations. Those shifts gave me a huge deal of anxiety and stress. In my previous two rotations, I would have pre-work, intra-work and post-work anxiety. Yep. Not going into crazy details but I do quite enjoy my current A&E rotation.
Aside from work being more tolerable, my personal life has been more enjoyable as well. I’ve been cooking yummy, relatively healthy meals for me and my husband (omg this is the first time I’m writing on my blog that Akash is my husband now as we got paper-married in May, how sweet). I’ve been working out a bit more consistently. Both factors are helping me with my weight loss journey before our wedding in December. I got out of a reading slump and have been getting back into reading again. There’s no drama in my life, and I’m grateful for it. Our cat, Mochi, is bringing in lots of joy in my everyday life as well. I love her loads. I’ve also recently went back home to Thailand where I got to reunite with my family and a good friend which made my heart so full (more below).
Thailand trip
When I went back to Thailand a few weeks ago, I did a lot of wedding planning. I was able to try on wedding dresses (both western and traditional Thai ones) to see which style suits me most and I got to design my own wedding dress which I’m excited to try on when it’s done. After viewing a few different venues, we settled on one which is perfect. I also got to design our wedding invitation card.
My family and I went on a quick beach trip. I also got to meet up with my dear friend, Pop. And of course, I ate lots and lots of amazing food. Maybe a bit too much haha. My parents hosted a lil’ family get-together at their restaurant as well. Time for some pictures!
Our marriage ceremony
As mentioned earlier, Akash and I got paper-married in May! It was a super small ceremony with only our very close family members in the UK there. It was a very wholesome, lovely day :’)
Guns N’ Roses concert
Akash and I went to Guns N’ Roses concert in Wembley, London a couple of days ago. I didn’t really grow up listening to their songs but Akash did and it brought him a lot of nostalgia. Even though I don’t know most of the songs, I enjoyed the concert and was vibing along hehe.
Lastly, I wanted to mention that I am about to change something huge with my career but I’ll share it when everything is confirmed and settled. Anyways, hope everyone is enjoy the warm summer!
With love,
Nana
